Meditations

To pray is to talk to God. To meditate is to listen to God’s answers.

As I learned to become quiet, to be able to meditate I found it very difficult to ‘quiet my mind’. Thinking that I had to totally blank my mind out wasn’t working for me. I always seem to have a very busy, multi-tasking mind that just whirls with thoughts a thousand miles an hour.

In learning to become quiet minded, its ok to allow thoughts to pass thru, let them go, and re focus. I created a “focal point” , something, somewhere or someone that I could entirely focus on, and when my mind wanders, I bring back that focal point. I ask God, Angels or Jesus, to bring my mind back to that focus. I also suggest that going into a meditation, you listen to soft background music, and an audio meditation that you can listen to. This will help to guide you into a very spiritual sense of peace and tranquility, as well as surround you in unconditional love, taking you into a very special place.

You can experience many different processes during a meditation, whether it be a knowing, vision, hearing of words. To connect with your feelings, what you feel within is very important. The word feel is not truly used in its entirety by most. When you become in touch with your feelings, within/without… you will gain greater perspective of who you are, listen, hear and understand the messages that come to you. You will learn to trust and have faith in these messages as they start confirming themselves. You can always ask for confirmation, especially if you are new to meditating. Don’t be afraid to ask God, Jesus and the Angels for confirmation to come to you regarding the messages you receive.

When going into you meditation mode, find a quiet time just for yourself. It’s best to do this early in the morning, or sometime during the day when you are not tired. You may lie down, or be sitting, whatever is most comfortable for you. You may want to just set aside a period of time each day, like 5 or 10 minutes to start with. You can be indoors or outdoors, but make sure you are in quiet surroundings. Choose your focal point. A place you can envision that is your very special place. Take a few relaxed deep breaths, close your eyes, and vision your favorite place. You may create in vision your very own sacred space. Create it in detail if you like. It could be a garden…..what types of plants, colors, and fragrances can you see, feel, and smell. Is there water nearby? A bench that you can sit on to relax in your special sacred space to meet with God. Perhaps a beach, or a mesa in the desert southwest. Or you could vision God or Jesus standing before you. It’s for you to create your very own special focal point. As your mind wanders, you have this focus to come back to. And do not be afraid to allow your mind to wander with thoughts of other daily things to go thru….just allow them to flow thru, coming back to your focal point.
